Maternity package - local authorities

Hiya,

I'm trying to work out how well or badly my employer performs in maternity pay and it would be great to compare to as many other local authorities as possible (they are v keen on benchmarking!). I suspect mine is fairly poor, and I'd like to raise it to help out other women in future as it's a difficult conversation to have if you're not pregnant!

If you're not happy putting the name of your employer, please feel free to DM me.

If you work actually in local government you are under nationally negotiated terms and conditions. So all are the same I am certain ( though I left a few years back)

Think it’s as sooverthemill says although I also left a few years ago.

Thanks, that's interesting - I've seen different more generous terms listed on here in another thread but I guess the other poster must have been mistaken...

I worked for 3 different local authorities in the last few years and all had the same terms. A lot of the policies also tend to be online, or if you really wanted to do some research could easily get via a FOI request!

I’m pretty sure in Scotland that different local authorities have different maternity pay schemes. I could be mistaken though
