Im 4 weeks postpartum FTM. Tmi i had nearly stopped bleeding as it had turned to a brown colour. On Friday i started having tummy cramps, was then sick and had a bad belly. Since then i think i have come on my period but still have horrendous cramps. Has anyone else had this?
Thank you

Hi OP. I think you need to give your midwife or postnatal department a call. They do tell you to do this for unusual or heavy bleeding. At 4 weeks PP, it does seem unlikely to me that it would be your period (although I could be wrong about that). Best to check with the professionals.

Definitely give midwives a ring, better to be safe, period is unusual so soon after birth mine didn’t come until 3 months after

My postpartum bleeding stopped and started for about 12 weeks which is very normal. Give the midwife a call to be safe but I doubt it’s your period will be afterpains and PP bleeding again

I posted a few weeks ago, despite exclusively BF my period came back bang on a month post partum this time. I spoke to GP and midwife, both said it's rare but can happen.

What they asked about was pain and odour. After pains should be long gone by 4 weeks, so if it's your normal period pains, ok, if it's worse or different at all, get checked out. Odour can indicate infection. I had neither, and it lasted as a normal period and that was that. It's worth getting checked though as you say the cramps are very bad.

Thank you guys. I've been to the midwife waiting a call from gp, possible a uterus infection xx
