7/8 weeks pregnant and really struggling with blocked ears. Any one had this? Any tips? Didn't get it with DD1. Making me feel so sick.

ugh bad luck :( my ears are always terrible, always blocked and popping. sounds bit grim but defo noticed last few days been a lot waxier. Could u check with GP you dont have an ear infection?(are they painful?. if not, i've usually been recommended olive oil in a prewarmed spoon then if you got a syringe put a couple of drops in.personally i hate putting anything in my ears and in my experience, olive oil or stuff u can buy from chemist just clogs them up more. There is one type of drop that has little bubbles when it goes in your ear it fizzes and u do feel like its breaking up some of the wax..! I just get blocked ears so often i kinda just live with it :s
if its making u feel bit sick i'd be inclined to see your GP though so they can check your ears. good luck and hope u feel better soon x

@RMarieClaire I was just posting about this in a separate thread yesterday. I’m 31 weeks pregnant and on week 8 of blocked ears so far and it’s horrible. You have my sympathy. It’s definitely worth getting your ears looked at by the GP as I’d assumed it was wax build up. Turns out mine is a blocked Eustachian tube. The GP said it wasn’t a pregnancy thing, but it seems like a weird coincidence as I’ve never had it before.

I don’t think there’s a lot they can do for you, however I’ve found that steaming helps a little. I’ve also tried a saline nasal spray. One ear is worse for me than the other, so sleeping on the ‘good’ ear also helps with drainage. I’m starting to suspect that mine may be linked to acid reflux, so a plentiful supply of Gaviscon is also helping.

I hope you manage to find some relief.
