16DPO VERY dark line

Hi all,

This might seem so silly but I took my last FRER test yesterday morning at 16DPO. I got my positive at 10DPO.

When I took this one yesterday, the test line went pink within seconds and was so dark, even darker than the test line.
Someone had mentioned it might be twins and not sure if this is an old wives tale but there are twins in the family. I've been exhausted, sore boobs, weird taste in my mouth and really nauseous and not even at 5 weeks yet!

Anyone else had this??

I got very dark positives from about 15dpo. I’m now 40+1 with one baby.

You say twins are in your family but not all twins are genetic. Non-identical twins are genetic and run down the mother’s side because it’s the release of two eggs. Identical twins are random.

Thankyou! Yeah thank goodness, twins are on both sides, both DH grandparents were twins so thankfully no input from there. On my side there are a few sets, my gran had twins and so did her auntie (my grandpas sister). Also a set of identical twins but I know they aren't genetic.

I got my positive at 11DPO, tested a few more times (like we all do) and my later ones went really dark like you described, test line much darker than the control line. I'm 29 weeks now with one baby 😊

This happened to me and there’s definitely only one baby in there!!

I tested the day my period was due, very dark line straight away only one baby

I had my first positive at 8dpo and very dark lines subsequently. Definitely just one baby. Of course it could be possible given all of the twins in your family but the only way you will know for sure is at a scan.

I have twins and tested positive at 12 DPO. Higher HCG which is why the tests are stronger.

Oh it's all very exciting! I have an early scan 3 weeks today so guess I'll just need to wait and find out 🥰
