No I don't think it's advised. I wouldn't risk it

Teakind · 20/09/2020 18:59

I love Itsu too but would avoid when pregnant

Under EU law all of the fish has to be frozen.

AlwaysBelieve19 · 20/09/2020 19:14

They said they keep it in very low temperatures

Here’s why - they use farmed salmon which is free from parasites so it is exempt from the freezing rule. You can eat it.

What you can eat

cooked fish and seafood

smoked fish such as smoked salmon and trout

raw or lightly cooked fish in sushi, if the fish has been frozen first

cooked shellfish, such as mussels, lobster, crab, prawns, scallops and clams

cold pre-cooked prawns

Thank you @EmilySpinach that's what I was thinking

It's fine. What do you think Japanese women do?
If its something you normally have, and it's from a place you've used before and not had any issues in terms of tummy upset etc, then it's fine. I would avoid new foods and takeaways from "random" places.

Enjoy your sushi!

You should be ok but the guidance is to only eat it if it’s been frozen as it kills parasites

It's completely fine. Don't worry about it.

As explained in your link, farmed salmon is exempt from this requirement as farming methods ensure that parasites are not a risk. OP can eat the salmon.
