antibiotics!

Got really bad ear infection and generally very run down - dd ill too - dr put me on Amoxicillin and I am worried sick that they will harm the baby - am 31 weeks pregnant now - also only got one day left of course and ear still hurting quite a lot so think the dr will give me some more if I go back!!

Generally speaking Amoxycillin is the 'safest' ab of choice... am pretty sure your GP wouldn't have prescribed it if it were potentially harmful. I took Amoxycillin when pregnant.

thanks notnowbernard. Can't stop panicking - dd seems to be ill with one thing and another every other week at the moment so lots of sleepless nights really running me down.

That's hard when you're pregnant... hope you're able to get some proper rest. And that dd is better soon. I hate this time of year, constant illness

I too have an ear infection and you have my utmost sympathy!

Your dr would not have prescribed you something that was dangerous for your baby.

If he wanted to give you something that was potentially risky, he would have talked you through the risks, if he didn't, then this will be ok. I took amoxicillin while pg and had a perfectly healthy baby.

And at 31 weeks, it's not like the doc didn't notice, is it

I took amoxycillin during both my pregnancies and both my babies are fine

please don't worry.

it did give me thrush though so watch out for that.
