Napping worries

Please help. I’m 24 weeks pregnant and worried about my sleeping. I’m sleeping 10hours a night and napping for at least an hour in the afternoon on the couch.

What I’m worried about it spending too much time lying down and restricting the blood flow to my baby. Is that a thing? I’m getting myself quite upset about it. :(

Not at all, your body needs the rest! Make the most of it, I have insomnia and I'm absolutely knackered. You will not harm your baby so don't worry

I think you just have to go with what your body wants during pregnancy. If you need extra sleep that is fine. Throughout my pregnancy my energy levels have varied and I've just gone with that. My blood pressure etc has always been good.

The blood flow will be fine, although it is recommended you sleep on your side. Dont worry if you wake up on your back just roll back again. I find a pregnancy pillow helps with that too.

Gosh, make the most of it.
I’m absolutely knackered but have a toddler, I would nap way more if I could.
Stop worrying and sleep as much as you need too.

Sleep on your side, left is apparently best, and you'll be fine. 39w here - shattered after doing very little in a day but awake half the night with baby on my bladder, kicking constantly, night sweats, carpal tunnel and insomnia. Also find I can't nap during the day and startle myself awake if I even try! 🙈😔

Enjoy the sleep!!!

Thanks so so so so much every one. So no need to worry that lying down most of the day increases restriction in blood flow and I should enjoy it then? Xxx

Relax and enjoy op. Smile

Sleep on your left but yeah no issues with extra sleep. You'll be desperate for it later when you're peeing every 30 mins!
