HCG Levels at 5 weeks..

Hey ladies what was you HCG levels at 5 weeks pregnant, I had mine done yesterday and they were 7200... the midwife said this tells us absolutely nothing.. but it has to mean something or they wouldn't test for the hcg level? I was in for lower right hand side pains so will be having a scan on monday x

Mine were 19000 at 5w3 so sounds about right :)
I am 12 weeks now. Haven had hcg done since.
Your next step would be an early scan as indeed one hcg figure doesn't say anything apart from you have lots of pregnancy hormones in your body!

You'll need a second blood test to check it's increasing at the right level, that's why a one off test does mean nothing as it could be high enough but actually reducing if you get me. I assume your back for a second blood test 2 data later to make sure it's doubling xx

Mine was around 5300 at 5 weeks and 6 days later was over 46000. PP was correct, one blood test tells you that you have the hormone in your body and subsequent ones tell you how it doubling.

You need a repeat in about 48 hrs. The rate of increase tells you about the pregnancy. The absolute number is very variable, and doesnt tell you much on its own.
