Wrong dates or miscarriage ?

I thought I was 8 weeks pregnant by midwife calculations as my last menstrual period was 22 July conceived probs 2 weeks after. I had bloating, tiredness, swollen boobs, the tiniest bit of nausea.
. I took my first pregnancy test on 19 August it was a strong positive line not faint in the slightest. I then took a digital clear blue one in 28 August that said 2-3 weeks pregnant but read on their website this is from conception not LMP.

3 days ago I started with light pink spotting which turned to brown spotting. Yesterday this turned to heavier fresh blood period like bleeding, it had three lumps of blood in. I haven’t had any pain in my abdomen at all. I went to my early pregnancy unit today for a scan they couldn’t find anything on the ultrasound so did the internal scan he found a sac in the cervix but it resembled 5-6 weeks pregnant - no yolk sac, no heart beat, no baby shadow. They have booked me in to go back in two weeks to have another scan. They said the bleeding might not be anything to worry about and there could be development with the features they are looking for - I might of just got my dates wrong. If there isn’t a yolk sac or heartbeat then it suggests I have had a miscarriage.

Has anyone else experienced this? What was your outcome?

Is there hope that there is a sac that resembles 5 weeks pregnant? Or is it likely miscarriage?

I have a 17 month old daughter who was my first and only previous pregnancy and she was born by emergency c section

I think you can only wait, I think you will hear different things from different ladies. For some this may have been a miscarriage and for others, it ended up fine.

I think the PP is right, sadly this situation can go either way. For me personally it didn't end well and was very similar. I went for early scan due to spotting. They saw flicker of heartbeat but told me my dates were wrong and was two weeks behind my dates. I knew in me heart that wasn't the case. They sent me off to wait weeks on my 12 week scan telling me I was all fine and stop worrying. I just knew it wasn't good and the baby wasn't growing. I booked a private scan and this confirmed same size but no heartbeat. I'm now 15 weeks pregnant with my rainbow baby. I've also read lots of stories where this turns out to be ok, dates were wrong and the next scan shows growth/heartbeat.

Just wanted to share my perspective. I know his awful this time can be and I hope things work out for you x

Thank you both so much for your replies. I have read so many experiences from people going both ways. I just wish I could know which way it was going :(

It's truly awful the wait, I really feel for you and I know it's so easy to google but sometimes I felt this drove me more crazy. As difficult as it is, you can't change the outcome and that's the part that I struggled with when waiting 😢
