@AlwaysBelieve19 I had my whooping cough jab and flu jab at the same time earlier in the week. 😊

@AlwaysBelieve19 I had my flu jab done yesterday, they did it whilst i was stood up with as maximum distance between me and the nurse as possible so they take every precaution they can in doing it, helps keep me and baby safe from flu and also if you didn't get it and had symptoms that match flu and covid then that could effect your birth plans if you have to wait for a covid swab to come back so it's a win win knowing you're unlikely to get flu.

Yep, booked in for me and my 3yo next week.

DH will go to Superdrug for his!

If as many people avoid flu as possible, it will stop it spreading early, and reduce pressure on the NHS. So tell everyone you know to get one - it’s only about £12 in many boots/Superdrug/Lloyd’s (book online)

I've only had flu jab 3 x in my life and each time I've been horrendously ill after, if I don't have it its fine! So I dont think I will have it especially as I know when I inevitably get the flu symptoms ill have to faff around to get a covid test to prove its just flu not covid

HumbleCrumble · 18/09/2020 10:30

Yes I will be getting it, I think it's more important this year than ever.

I've had it for the past 8 years due to another health condition and it has never made me feel ill.

AlwaysBelieve19 · 18/09/2020 12:09

Thank you everyone for your replies my concern is not with taking it but the after affects of it especially being pregnant and you know as pregnant women our immune system is weaker ... I know before pregnancy I was fine and I never had after effects but not sure with being pregnant

I've never had negative effects from the flu jab while pregnant. You've reminded me I need to sort myself one.

Lockdownseperation · 18/09/2020 12:59

The side effects of catching the flu while pregnant will be much worse than the side effects of the vaccination.

Poppyismyfavourite · 18/09/2020 14:01

I'm pregnant and deffo having it! I have had it (and paid for it) for the last 3/4 years, because I work in a University and get the freshers' flu every year (and every other bug going round)!
This year I'm making my husband have it too! - need him to be healthy to take care of me and baby!

Galaxycat · 18/09/2020 14:11

@AlwaysBelieve19 you won’t catch flu or Covid from the flu jab 😊

DaisyChain16 · 18/09/2020 15:11

If you have the flu jab at the same time as whooping cough do they do one in each arm?
