Hi I'm 35 weeks pregnant and I've been having a lot of pain at the top of my abdomen last night the pain was so bad and it continued on and off for a good hour I took paracetamol applied a hot water bottle and I eventually fell to sleep.

I've woken up this morning and the pain wasn't there I've got up with my DS and the pain has come back again not as intense as last night I can cope with it without any paracetamol but I'm getting it with shooting pains in my crotch.

The pain I can only describe as aching and it's on both sides under my ribs and the pain is causing my back to have a full ache too.

Could this just be because the baby is laying awkwardly?

I sounds as if the baby is pressing on your ribs, I'd check with your midwife though just in case. I have it although not as bad mainly when lying on my side but not so much throughout the day. Week 36-37 baby descended a bit and I have less of the rib pain and less heartburn.
