Hospital bag - baby clothes size

Hi all

Was after some advice...packing some baby clothes and wondered if newborn sizes would be ok or whether I should also pack a few 0-3mnths clothes too?

So confusing! I've also packed both size 0 and size 1 nappies

My newborn went into size 1s straight away. Pampers do a "carry pack" with 22 nappies that was perfect size for hospital bag.

My baby was in size 0 for 9 or 10 weeks. You can get packs for about £1 in asda and Tesco so they're probably worth having

My 4lb9 baby went into mami size 1. Midwife showed us how to tuck the top to make it smaller. Never leaked

I packed both newborn and 0-3 for my 9lb baby. He fit into the newborn just fine after birth. He did outgrow them in two weeks though!

Agree! They are really out of proportion, super short legs and feet compared to the body and arms.

Big babies not always due to your size or diabetes

I am 5’5. Adult weight always hovers around 8stone. Baby was 8lb8oz and long. No issues in pregnancy at all.

Also the weight recommendations have never been accurate, ie the sleepsuits said up to 11lbs for example, but by 9lb something he was simply too long.

His current sleepsuits say 6-9months, 21lb/ 9.5kg. He is only 7kg, yet these fit perfectly length wise.

I've got first size and up to a month. Last time newborn/ up to a month swamped dd who was 7lb 1. Can't see me needing 0-3 as in most brands that's over 10lb. I only buy the next ones because they wash well and have the integrated scratch mitts.
