Hi all. This is a bit of a weird one as its totally unexpected. I tested positive 2.5 weeks ago and the problem is that my husband is supposed to be infertile due to cancer treatment he had 5 yrs prior, he was told in no uncertain terms he wont be able to have kids ever. And then my period was late and i did a test and it was positive. It was a complete shock to us and neither of us actually still believe this happened. Because of his supposed infertility i have doubts if I'm actually pregnant of if its a more serious problem like cancer. I read that ovarian cancer can also give a positive result and do can ovarian cysts apparently.
Its taking absolute years to get a scan plus its too early and even a private scan takes weeks to roll around.
I have some pregnancy like symptoms but i might be imagining what I'm experiencing is pregnancy rather than, say, stomach flu. For example, i feel constantly sick, i have not vomited once but i feel sick as a dog all day long. I tried eating more snd eating less, eating often, skipping certain foods, nothing works. Has anyone else been feeling sick all day but not actually be sick?
I also burp constantly. I have stomach ache when i press on my stomach, its sharp like pain. Anyone else had this?
I also have very light cramps on and off down below, this has been going on since i tested. I read about implantation cramps but can they last this long? Anyone else had similar?
I guess if others say they had similar symptoms to me it might elevate my worry about it being something else. Husband is waiting to get tested but again everything takes weeks and weeks currently so thats not a relief any time soon.
Anyways, thanks for reading!

@Viletta yes he is waiting for a referral to the fertility clinic, his GP is organising. I’m very interested to find out the results GrinGrinGrin

Did he have a fertility check at the time then? My DH had chemo is definitely still fertile according to the clinic!

@perfumeistooexpensive it is quite something isnt it! This is my first pregnancy ever (at ripe old age of 34) and its all so new and so weird!

@DragonPie he did. He ended up freezing samples too as they were so adamant. He had a stem cell transplant.

@Hall30 Nature is amazing, your husband being fertile after all he's been through! 34 is fine. I was pregnant with my DD at 35. She's 34 now but with a teenager and twins her childbearing days are over. She started young which is just as well because she has had severe gynae problems until recent hysterectomy. So glad the experts were wrong about your DH.

Update: had a scan today, they had to cancel tomorrow but offered me today instead. I am approximately 7 weeks pregnant! Still can’t believe it!

Huge congratulations to you both! I can imagine it's quite a shock.

I worked for someone who was told she would never be able to have children due to cancer treatment. She went on to have three children later on!
