As the question describes, I'm curious when people ditched the cot and put little one into their own bed?

Just over 2. He had started climbing out of his cot more regularly. I’d keep them in for as long as possible x

just after she turned 2.5 and showed up in our room in her grow bag one morning.
Didn't want her getting hurt

We had a cot that turned into a small bed with side rails. We made the change when DS was 3, he always loved his cot and never tried to climb out. He was excited about turning the cot into a bed and watched DH and I do it. No problems, he continued to sleep well in the bed.

Practical reasons. DD1 at 18 months and DD2 at 3 years because the next child was born. DS at 6 when we moved house and he got a bedroom of his own.

22 months or so.
Got him a lovely toddler bed from argos.
He has a gate in his door but we've never had problems, he goes to bed at 8pm and stays there til 8am ish.
He doesn't nap anymore though, so think that helps, when he goes to bed.hes too tired for games. Straight to sleep.

DD is 2.5 and we are just about to take the sides off the cot bed. We’ve been away and she has settled really nicely in a normal bed. At home just before we left, she climbed out of the cot somehow when I popped out of the room, so safety is the primary motivator!

17 or 18 months after climbing out of the cot. I was dreading it but he seems to love his big boy bed and sleeps much better.

Just after he turned 3 and to be honest, could have kept it longer but his baby brother will need the cot so wanted him to get used to the bed in advance of the little ones arrival.

He never attempted to climb out and now he is in a very low to the floor cotbed he still calls out to us in the morning even though he can easily get out himself now!
