41 weeks + and waiting for induction?

Just wondering if any others are in the same situation!

I'm 41+1 today, and been booked for an induction at 41+5 (Sunday). Feeling nervous about it as of course I'll be going alone as partners aren't allowed until active labour commences.

Hoping something may still happen naturally beforehand but haven't felt any signs so far aside from occasional discomfort, but no no loss of mucus plug, no Braxton Hicks, etc.

Anyway, just wanted to reach out and see if someone is in a similar situation.

Any tips for induction also welcome, I know they can be lengthy and painful, so I've stocked up on series to watch on my phone / books and am decided to request pain relief if needed which I know with an induction can be more likely.

Only just saw this post! I'm currently in for induction. Came in at 6pm Monday, pessary put in yesterday at 1pm (there was a huggggge wait due to the demands of other deliveries etc) I've had the pessary for 24 hours, doctor examined me and said he could artificially rupture my waters but there are no beds on delivery, so he gave me another 6 hours with the pessary to see how I'd progress.. Ive just had it removed and am now waiting for that free bed on delivery so I can be moved, have my waters broken and then my husband can come in.

Although it sounds scary beforehand because you're alone and not allowed visitors, being here hasn't been too bad.. Yes there is a huge wait for intervention, but midwives are working really hard to keep everyone safe and happy. The induction so far has been fine, but you've done the right thing on stocking up on entertainment - netflix has been my best friend! My husband left before the induction process started because of the huge wait I had, but midwives weren't queuing up to get him gone, he's been allowed to meet me outside the hospital so we can walk together, and he'll be back with me before I progress too much (hopefully... As labour has been slow for me so far as its my first, I'd imagine i won't move from. 4 to 10 in a great speed!)

Bring lots to do, lots of snacks, and a long phone charger. Keep active, stay on the ball and walk as much as you can... And know that every single step is a step towards getting baby here (I literally wrote all the steps out like a to do list to make myself feel like i was more in control!)

Good luck OP xx
