Handhold waiting to miscarry

I went for a scan after several positive tests. Tested positive fairly recently but have missed a couple of periods. The scan was inconclusive as the sac is empty. I apparently need a re scan in 2 weeks if I don’t begin bleeding by then in case it’s very early. All my googling tells me the sac would be around 5-5 1/2 weeks so no reason for it to be empty. This will be miscarriage number 4 so I know what to expect. Just wanted a hand hold while I wait for the inevitable I guess Sad

holding hand tightly
I'm so sorry this is happening to you, OP. Its absolutely awful. Why are they waiting 2 weeks? 1 week should be enough to see if there's any growth and less awful limbo time for you.
Sending hugs xx

I’m not sure, it was at peek a baby and they said 2 weeks. I’ve spent all day trying to navigate my GP who keeps saying just book in with your midwife but won’t book me in for a scan. The midwife can’t see me for 3 weeks so I don’t know what that would achieve. I can see me just paying for yet another private scan but lots of people wouldn’t have that option!

I'm so sorry @Babamamasheep , that sounds horrible. I really hope you get a good surprise in 2 weeks. My fingers are crossed for you. The waiting is horrendous.

I'm in a very similar boat, sadly. I should be 8 weeks but a private scan last week showed a sac, yolk, and tiny embryo but no heartbeat. EPU scan this week measured the embryo even smaller, sac had grown further but still no hb. I know 100% I've miscarried but sadly my body hasn't caught up yet. EPU want to rescan next week to confirm as they said I could just be much earlier than I think, but I know I'm not - I'm 100% sure of dates and had a positive test over 5 weeks ago. So I'm just waiting to miscarry naturally or will discuss management with EPU following rescan next week. I still have all the pregnancy nausea for no reason, it's just horrible.

Another one here for a handhold OP. Hope you’ve got some real life support too.

I'm so sorry OP, sending my love.

Sunbird24 · 18/09/2020 16:17

How are you doing @Babamamasheep?

Serz88 · 22/09/2020 22:32

@babamamasheep how is everything going hun?

Babamamasheep · 23/09/2020 12:05

@Sunbird24 @Serz88 thanks so much for checking in! I forgot all about this thread. I went for my scan and I’m 6 weeks with a little heartbeat. They don’t know what’s causing the bleeding (they never did with my first) but baby is safe and well so far!
