Hi ladies,

Earlier this morning I experienced an excruciating stabbing pain behind my belly button and it practical knocked me over (I was sitting up on the bed and had to lay down) it sorted itself out quite quickly but it’s been niggling all day, just a tiny bit of pain to the left of my bully button now. It feels different to round ligament pain which I’m used to getting when I sneeze and cough, this is a different location. Just wondering if anyone can shed any light on what it might be?

Was going to say it sounds like round ligament pain till you said it feels different to usual. Could be your abdominal muscles/ligaments pulling? Did it happen as you sat up or did it just happen as you were still? If it happens repeatedly I'd be tempted to ring midwife.

Thank you for the reply, I was at a funny angle leaning over to get something and it does feel like pulling, feels like something pulling from the inside!

Definitely sounds like muscular pain from what you describe, I get it sometimes when I reach over the bed to grap something, things like that. Of course it's hard to understand completely just from text what you're feeling but if it only happens when you're on a funny position or move suddenly I wouldn't personally be concerned x

I had that a lot with DD1. Your body is changing so quickly your muscles etc are going through a lot. Sometimes sitting up or turning it would feel like I was tearing a stomach muscle! Agony at the time then a dull pain after. DD was a very healthy bub and all was fine. Mention to your midwife tomorrow if you're still worried.
