Hi Everyone,

I hope you don’t mind me reaching out on here. I am a therapist currently working in child and adolescent mental health services.

To further my understanding of infant and child development I am currently on a psychoanalytic masters training which requires me to observe a newborn in their usual family setting for one hour a week for up to 18 months, the idea being to gain an understanding of the infants development in the first few months/years of life.

I do not expect the family to put themselves out for me beyond deciding upon a regular visiting hour, all I would expect is that mother/primary carer and infant are at home and doing more or less what they would be doing if I were not there.

Due to the current situation with Covid this will most likely start as virtual appointments hopefully then moving to me visiting your home once a week when it’s safe to do so.

I’m based in South London so a family situated around this area would be ideal, however I could also travel to Kent or other parts of London.

I’m looking for a mum that’s due to have her baby around December or January. This is obviously a big commitment but is also a lovely way I think to have an hour a week of focused mum/baby time.

If you might be interested in exploring this do email me on [email protected] and I can answer any questions you might have or reply to this thread.

Thank you :)
