Looking for someone to chat too? I'm due on 22nd of may by the online calculators.

Just wanted to speak with someone who's just found out their expecting too?

Feeling very anxious due to previously having misscarriages

Thanks @CharlieD2020 😀 and congrats @Trousersareoverrated and @lucymagoo!

All good here too - baby was very bouncy & the midwife said it all looked great. I am 12+1 so due date of 24th May!

Good luck for everyone with scans coming up soon! xxx

@Trousersareoverrated and @dellarossa congratulations!!

It's so surreal isn't it to see baby wiggling away and to feel none of it 😂. So happy for you both!!

Does anyone know when you get test results back? I thought if anything came up high it’s a couple of days after scan or is it likely to be 10 days regardless?

@hereforallthehelp I got mine back 3 days after my scan. I had to ring as they only ring you if there’s high risk, otherwise they send a letter. It might be different in other local authorities.

@hereforallthehelp no idea 🙄 hospital called me yesterday to say they can't find my results and to confirm I did actually want the screening done and to check they took my blood. So they are chasing up the lab. I went last Wednesday and they took my bloods then.

I had heard it's normally around 10 days for a letter if low risk and phone call in 3 if higher risk.

But Ive been told by a nurse I know that the labs are very busy at the moment especially with all the Corona tests being done so it's possible that it could be delayed.

Thank you @RustyCat and @bloomety - do you think you’ll call to chase or just wait for the letter?

Report
dellarossa · 11/11/2020 09:42

@hereforallthehelp my scan was on Tuesday and I was told that they would contact me over the phone by the end of this week if there was any cause for concern, but that if all was OK it would be a letter in the post ‘within a week or two’. The midwife ended by saying ‘if you haven’t heard by the weekend then assume it’s all OK’.

I think they generally process test results pretty quickly as obvious if further diagnostic tests are needed then time is of the essence! So I think you would be contacted within a few days if there was a higher risk result, but you might be waiting a while for your letter to confirm a lower risk result.

@hereforallthehelp so I got my letter today 😂. After all that faff yesterday!

Twin 1 - 1 in 8312 for downs syndrome and 1 in 10,000 for Edwards and pataus

Twin 2 - 1 in 3100 for downs syndrome and 1 in 10,000 for Edwards and pataus.

Letter says babies are a lower chance of having any of the syndromes. No further testing available on NHS due to the level of chances they have.

Happy news - scan went well and our precious little baby looked so cute! Very wriggly and even gave me and DH a wave (very thankful our trust is allowing partners, I know we're in the minority).

Put me a few days ahead too, new due date of 21st of May. Grin

Any nub or skull theorists here want to take a guess at babies gender?! Not sure we got a very good pic of the right area!

We also have a little wriggler, although he or she was doing yoga positions and didn’t want to show us the legs and feet. Measuring 12+5 so due on 21st May - snap @CharlieD2020.

Relieved that all seems ok so far, although I have put on weight and am a bit paranoid about getting enormous!

Report
Catisa · 11/11/2020 16:38

Congratulations!!
I am also worried about getting enormous! my belly is already showing quite a bit! Am I the only one? I didn't think I would be showing at 12 weeks

CharlieD2020 · 11/11/2020 16:43

Congratulations @mouldygrapes! Bump twins! :) so glad it went well and baby already causing mischief for you by the sounds of things!

@catisa the lady having her 12 week screening bloods at the same time as me said she's gained a stone already. I feel like I am showing already too, though looks a little like I've just eaten too many lockdown cakes at the moment! I keep hearing that every bump is different, I'm sure yours is lovely!

Glad you got such reassuring results on your screening for the twins @rustycat. Has that put your mind at ease?

Add me to the paranoid about becoming huge list! I discovered this morning that I can no longer button up my jeans Confused - I don’t think I look unmistakably pregnant yet but I definitely look like I’ve been scoffing my way through lockdown! I didn’t think I’d notice any significant weight gain until about 16 or so weeks, maybe naive of me!

Report
lucymagoo · 11/11/2020 17:09

I'm the opposite I'm worried I won't show at all 😂 I'm told because I'm tall I won't show as much and I don't have any sign yet at 13+2. But I'm really looking forward to having a belly and looking pregnant

Catisa · 11/11/2020 17:32

Well on my side I think it makes more than a week or two I can't button my trousers. It's true that I always got quite tight trousers, obs the fabric doesn't give away much but still!

I am happy to look pregnant, just thinking if this belly is already showing at 12 weeks how is it going to end up???? How big is the baby going to be?! I am a bit scared Smile

I’m not showing yet, but I had a little belly to begin with!
I don’t feel like I’ve put on weight but the scales don’t lie! Clothes feel more or less OK

@CharlieD2020 you’ve got a pretty clear nub there. Looks like a boy to me!

Oh really @trousersareoverrated! I don't know where I should be looking! Which photo shows the nub best? I think I may send it off to one of the online nub theorists things for a bit of fun Grin
