I’m 18 weeks and had a call with a consultant, and due to medical history I have been advised to have a c-section. Is there anything I can do to prepare myself better for this? Any good stories people can share? Quite scared!

I've had two and they were brilliant. Virtually pain free (including recovery). I took painkillers on a 24 hour schedule, just to make sure, but was enjoying day trips out with the family on day 4, pain free
I choose to have sections for MH reasons, and don't regret my decision, though I do wonder whether I could have coped with a vaginal birth, but only in the same way that I wonder how I'd stand up to torture if in a spy movie.

I don't feel I missed out on hours or even days of agonising pain, ripping my most sensitive parts open, and possible incontinence. Hell no.

This for me too. No guilt. You've other stuff to feel guilty about, being a parent!
