I’m now 20 weeks and still haven’t put on any weight, in fact I’m 2kg lighter than I was at my booking in appointment at 8 weeks. I was overweight but not obese and I’m sure I should have put on something by now. Anyone else had this?

Oh yes... im 28weeks now and for first time yesterday I'm weighting the same as I did in April... im going to speak with my midwife as im concerned but I think ive.lost the weight and thags what baby has been using till now.. so im guessing I will now start to put weight on

@rykar thank you. I asked my consultant but he just said keep an eye. I do t look like I’ve lost weight and I have a pretty big bump so can’t figure out how I now weigh less. I haven’t seen a midwife since my booking in appointment, only a phone appointment and she was in the phone for 3 minutes so I didn’t have chance to ask anything

I lost weight at first due to feeling rough and didnt really start putting weight on until gone 20 weeks. I would think providing you keep an eye on it, that it's probably fine. It's only really towards the end the baby puts on the majority of weight.

I was the exact same and I'm current 33 weeks and all in all so far I've only gained 2kg as I lodt so much weight to begin with but midwife wasn't concerned as baby has grown exactly as they should be. Think it's just one of those things when you start overweight.

I lost weight, it was the lack of booze! Plus eating better.

I had put on 1 stone when I gave birth and lost that very quickly afterwards as it was basically baby, waters and placenta. Not everyone gets fatter, you don’t need to put on much to have a healthy pregnancy.

I'm almost 37 weeks and my total weight gain is 5lbs 😮. I have gestational diabetes which is what we think has affected my weight gain because I'm conscious of what I'm eating and not snacking. Baby is measuring well and I'm all bump!

I am very early days, only 9 weeks. Ive always been slim (size 6-8) which I am lucky with, but people always think that slim means that they can skinny shame you. I've had comments about how skinny I'm looking recently. I've had morning sickness although I'm eating way more unhealthily than usual (only thing I can stand is white carbs).

I think it's relatively normal to lose weight at my stage - going by mum losing at least half a stone when she was in the early stages of pregnancy with me - but the comments are getting me down.

Thegirlhasnoname · 11/09/2020 09:49

With my first I had gone down 2 stone in weight once they had weighed me before discharge from the hospital. I’m 18 weeks in my current pregnancy and down 7kg on my booking in weight.

I wasn’t obese with either pregnancy but a little on the heavier side

Anxiousgirl23 · 11/09/2020 09:51

I’m 31 weeks and have only gained 0.6kg... I had a bmi of 24 before but think I haven’t gained weight due to eating healthily and doing more walks etc since lockdown. My baby girl is measuring fine so no one is concerned

I’m the same, just have a bump but no extra weight gain. Not worries about it, I’m putting mine down to coming out of lockdown binge eating & wine drinking, and eating healthier for the baby x
