Has anyone gone through having brown discharge and some clots that haven't ended in a miscarriage? I'm currently 9 weeks but I've had some the past few days and just have a horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach. I have an appointment tomorrow to get checked.

I need to know if anyone's had this and everything ended up being ok because my head is all over the place worrying.

I’m sorry I had this and it was miscarriage

SkyeBarn · 09/09/2020 21:31

@Mother2princess sorry but I just asked for positive outcomes at the moment as I stated my head is all over the place.

Hi Skye, I had brown blood/ discharge from about 9-11 weeks. I went for an early scan and they identified an implantation bleed in the uterus and later that day I got a very small amount of reddish blood followed by brown spotting/ discharge for nearly two weeks. It was horrible and nerve wracking and I was constantly knicker checking! It stopped before my first trimester scan and I'm currently 38+2 weeks.

Good luck with your pregnancy 🤞🏻

SkyeBarn · 09/09/2020 21:41

@ronswansonstache I really needed this. Just want to keep my mind as ease and what ever will be tomorrow will be.
Everything is worrying me at the moment so I can't wait to get checked. It's only when I'm wiping and my midwife said it's a good thing that it isn't on my knickers and it doesn't hurt when I pee so I'm looking at the positives.

Good luck in your birth and motherhood.

Hi
I had brown discharge between weeks 10/11 for 10days. I didnt go and get checked as I was coming up to my 12week scan but all was fine.
I now have 7month old twin girls.

Hope all works out for you OP xx

CC12x · 09/09/2020 21:49

Hey i had this at 6 weeks and it's really worrying, turns out there was a slight tear in the sac nothing serious. And stopped after a few days. Im now 32 weeks. Good luck OP x

WingBingo · 09/09/2020 21:51

I had a haematoma that caused bleeding like you describe. All throughout the first trimester too. He’s now a strapping 5 year old.

espressoontap · 09/09/2020 21:54

Had this too, also a haemotoma. 37 weeks now. On the scan at 9 weeks they said because it was less than a third of the size of the embryo, they weren't concerned. Good luck Thanks

I had brown discharge from finding out until about week 14, sometimes really quite a lot. 3 instances of red bleeding too. They could never find a definite reason. Now nearly 25 weeks and all seems to be going well. It was so horrible at the time. Wishing you all the very best Thanks

Doliv63 · 09/09/2020 22:12

I had brown discharge early on in my pregnancy..cannot remember exact week probably 6 to 8 weeks . My son is now 20 💐

Phoenix76 · 09/09/2020 22:24

I had this too, with both of mine, the last time lingered for longer. I was absolutely convinced with the second there was no chance it would be ok, I had a trans vaginal scan and it was something to do with the forming placenta, I don’t remember what exactly I just remember crying tears of joy that my baby was fine, she had her first day at school today. I know it’s terrifying hang in there op, sending best wishes.

Oreoreo · 10/09/2020 09:06

I had brown bleeding and spotting off and on from about 7 weeks and I was convinced it was bad as I’d miscarried before. But I had an early scan and everything was fine, my dates matched and heartbeat was strong. I had a couple of bright red bleeds around weeks 13 and 15 as well. They never lasted long and baby was fine. I’m 35 weeks now, there was never a reason found for the bleeds, midwives told me sometimes it’s just one of those things

hellymum21 · 10/09/2020 09:15

Hi, I just posted the below on another thread and I'm copying it over, hope it helps! Xx

I am 14 weeks today. I had light spotting (occasionally slightly more than 'light') from around 7-10 weeks. I had two early EPU scans at 7-8 weeks and all was perfect. Then I had private scan (was already booked so just went for extra reassurance) and saw the most amazing baby that had grown so much in 2 weeks and heard heartbeat etc! Since then I've also had my 12 week scan which was amazing.

I thought lots about the spotting (stressed big time actually as I've had previous miscarriages) and did plenty reading....which isn't always good!!! Anyway I concluded that the spotting could be to do with cervical ectopy found at my last smear! It all made sense! It was worse when pushing out a 💩 and that's a thing apparently!!

So I know how worried you are feeling right now OP and I wanted to share my story because not all spotting is bad news.

Best of luck with your pregnancy and stay positive 🥰xx

SkyeBarn · 10/09/2020 12:43

Thanks for everyone's encouraging messages. I've rung EPU this morning and they told me not to worry and call back if it gets heavier. They think it's an implantation bleed but (after googling 😬) I've seen that you don't have cloys in implantation bleeding which I've had a small one. I just wish they would have allowed me to have a scan.

ronswansonstache · 10/09/2020 16:30

Sorry to hear about this OP, I'm sure you're so worried. Can you get a private scan nearby? I had one at 8-9 weeks & it only cost about £80, although this was before lockdown etc. If you can find somewhere open it might be worth it for the peace of mind.

RobynNora · 10/09/2020 16:36

I had brown spotting at 11 weeks and all was fine. Suspect now that it might have been from a fibroid that I didn't know was there until my scan. I remember the midwife asking if I'd had sex recently (I had, a few days before) She also said that brown meant old blood, so much less of a possible cause for concern than red blood.

Hope you get a good outcome too.

SkyeBarn · 11/09/2020 17:22

I've had a scan today at a&e and I've been told I have subchorionic hematoma. I'm taking it as positive as I can as I really thought it was going to be a lot worse. Thanks everyone for your positive and helpful advice and stories.

OP posts:
Minkies13 · 11/09/2020 17:27

I had the same as you described when I was 6 weeks. It was a subchorionic haematoma. Baby was fine. I'm now 32 weeks.

hellymum21 · 11/09/2020 17:35

@SkyeBarn that's such a relief for you ☺️
