5 weeks - no symptoms really?

I’m 5 weeks today and can’t stop doing pregnancy tests worrying that something has gone wrong, and one of the reasons is because I haven’t had any morning sickness.

I thought my boobs felt a bit sore and bloated belly as well as some stretching sort of cramps in my belly. But I don’t know if I’m just imagining it because I’m really aware of everything and tolhibo everything is a pregnancy symptom!

I guess I’m after some reassurance that it’s ok that I haven’t had many symptoms yet and that it doesn’t necessarily mean anything bad is going on.

Anyone here who didn’t really have many symptoms? Or did they start later?

I’ve booked an early scan for 7 weeks as I just can’t wait until week 12...

🙋🏻‍♀️

I had so few symptoms!! No sickness, no nausea, slept really well, no cravings, no aversions, normal appetite... enjoy it!!

Now 32 weeks and everything fine in there

I had zero symptoms with DS2 OP - absolutely nothing at all other than a missed period and bit of cramping around when it was due. Felt totally normal! I had a scan at 8 weeks for the same reasons as you as needed some reassurance there was actually a baby there! All was fine and have a healthy 3 month old asleep on me now.

Did have symptoms with DS1 so every pregnancy is different - try not to compare to others as it will make you worry (admittedly being a massive hypocrite by saying that as it's all I did!)

Hope time until your scan passes quickly and gives you the reassurance you need.

Aside from bloating and tiredness I had no symptoms now 20 weeks. But I agree it can be very worrying not to have any symptoms. Try to think of it that you’re one of the lucky ones

I had sickness from Hell but it didn't start til about 6-7 weeks, sorry to say - i don't think many people are already sick at 5 weeks. I hope you do avoid it though!

Cafeaulait27 · 08/09/2020 22:22

Thank you!! This is all very reassuring. It’s so hard to know if things are symptoms or if I’m just looking for them!

Actually now I think about it - the one thing I have had is getting really cold particularly at work (in an office) I get shivers but as soon as I put layers on I then get really hot. But mostly I feel really cold! Apparently chills are a thing, due to your body trying to cool down with the raise in body temp. But who knows.

Oh and also! I was having crazy dreams and sleep talking for about 2 weeks before I knew I was pregnant. But that seems to have stopped now. But again, not sure if it really was a symptom!

Totally normal! I had absolutely no symptoms of any kind at that stage, and didn’t develop any until about 8/9 weeks. Even then, I only ever had mild nausea and sore boobs a bit later on. Mine also came and went, so some days I would have none at all. Baby is now 26 weeks and booting me in the bladder.

Congratulations!

I felt the same way at 5 weeks, but sickness and tiredness really hit me at 6 weeks and is still strong at 10 weeks. I think most people start to get symptoms between 6-8 weeks so dont worry!

Chanel05 · 09/09/2020 09:56

I had no symptoms until 6 and a half weeks and then the nausea and sickness hit all of a sudden! I'm 39+1 now. Congratulations!

Congratulations!
I was nearly 6 weeks when we found out that we was pregnant and I had no symptoms of pregnancy until about a week or so later when the sickness kicked in! Luckly that went away in the second trimester! X

Congratulations!! I knew I was pregnant within days (I know it’s not possible but I swear I did) and it wasn’t symptoms as such but just a feeling. I had no symptoms at all, not even the sore boobs everyone mentioned and I waited for a week after my BFP to get my period as I was so sure it was going to be a chemical pregnancy. Then when no period and still no symptoms arrived I booked a private scan at 7 weeks. The very day of my scan the sickness hit me with a bang and I found out I was having twins. Now I have every symptom under the sun and I am basically bed bound at 17 weeks so I long for those symptom free days. They will most likely come, and if they don’t, then lucky you! The early scan was amazing for me and I would suggest anyone feeling anxiety over their pregnancy to have one. It would have calmed me down had they not told me it was twins 😂
