Baby Not Emptying Bladder

I wondered if anyone had been scanned and any bladder issues had been detected with the baby.

I am 33 weeks and had a growth scan yesterday. All fine growth wise by baby's bladder was full. I went back 30 minutes later and it was still full so was asked to go back this morning but it was still the same. They think there may be a blockage but I haven't been told much until the consultant can speak to me.

Any experiences of this would be great to hear.

Bladder/kidney issues are pretty common - was the fluid around baby normal? If it was then that is reassuring because it tells you baby is peeing. It may just be coincidence with both scans - especially if the kidneys look normal and the bladder was just full but not enlarged. Do you know what you’re having?
Hopefully your consultant appointment is soon so that you can get things clarified - You’ll be feeling very anxious until that time so in the meantime I hope you can take it easy on yourself and that you have a supportive partner/friends you can talk to.

No I don't know what I'm having but the hospital did say this is most common in boys. Hopefully the consultant will give me more information!
