Maternity allowance

I applied for my maternity allowance a month or so ago & put on the form I don’t want it to start until baby’s due date (another 7 weeks away) when should I hear about it. Also I’m pretty sure I’ll be entitled to full amount, I am self employed and pay full amount of class 2 insurance (voluntarily as could opt out as earnings quite low) am I right in thinking I’ll get full amount? I did for my first pregnancy but don’t know if things have changed

You should get the full amount. Even if they offer you the lower amount you can usually pay a bit extra and receive the full amount. Not sure what the current wait time is, but I recall it not being a particularly quick process.
