Can anyone please help me, I’m currently 7weeks pregnant after a FET and have been taking utrogestan since. At the end of the week I started getting awful lower back and pelvic pain, and when I wipe it’s seems pink, this is still the same today. On Friday I spoke to the doctors who booked in for a scan for Wednesday. But now I’m starting to wonder could I be having a mmc and it’s just the utrogestan stopping it starting.
I seemed to have the normal symptoms before the pain started now all I seem to have is this awful backache and pains which come and go down below.

Sorry I just don’t know who else to ask,and the doctors just told me not to worry until the scan which I so hard. Tia xxx

Hi OP,

I didn’t want to read and run. I am sorry to hear you are going through this.
I am 7wks + 5 following a FET so I’m at a similar stage to you. But I haven’t experienced the symptoms you have (touch wood). It must be a horrible experience for you. I had a one off heavy bleed at 5-6 weeks which thankfully ended up being fine but at the time I was beside myself with worry thinking the worst so I do know how you feel.

Is your scan tomorrow? Hopefully you will know exactly what is happening then. I wish you luck🤞

Needtotalkivf19 · 08/09/2020 17:48

Thankyou so much, and congratulations!!!
Yes my scan tomorrow so hopefully will know more after that.
I think I’m making myself more nervous, we thave waited so long for this I’m just so scared.
I have had really bad sickness again today so im hoping that’s a positive sign.
Have you had you first scan yet?? Xxx

You are welcome and thank you for the good wishes.
I do hope the scan gives positive news tomorrow, if you want to I’d like to hear how you get on.
I understand entirely the nerves and the endless waiting. Getting to this stage has felt like such a long slog.
I haven’t yet had any sickness so I’m not sure if that is a good or bad sign. When did your sickness start? How has the pain been today?
I had the 6 week scan at the fertility clinic and I am now waiting to hear from the midwife at the GP surgery to book me in for antenatal care.

Needtotalkivf19 · 08/09/2020 19:15

I have had sickness on and off since before transfer, I think this is due to high does of progynova as well has Estrogen patches.
Ive still had a little pain today but not has bad at all and I haven’t noticed any blood. So I’m keeping me fingers crossed Everything's fine and I’ve just been worrying myself.
My clinic as had me waiting 3weeks since I got my positive for my scan. Which seems so late compared to others. But at least it’s finally here tomorrow. I will let you know how I get on and Thankyou again. It’s made me feel a lot better talking to someone xxx

I have found I’ve felt worse taking prognova tablets and utrogestan than I did on the first cycle (fresh IVF) even though I was told these drugs are supposed to be easier on the body.
I’m glad to hear the pain has eased and the bleeding has stopped. Hopefully that’s a good sign.
The dates for pregnancy tests and scans seem so different from clinic to clinic don’t they.
I’m glad it has helped talking, it can feel very lonely going through IVF.
Very best wishes for tomorrow, I will be thinking of you.x
🤞

Needtotalkivf19 · 09/09/2020 18:02

I glad I’m not the only one I have said that to loads of people how I’ve found the FET cycle loads worst than the fresh one, even though it suppose to be easier on your body.
I had my scan today and saw a pulsing heartbeat, so I feel a little better about things now, I have another scan next week has they was unsure if they could see twins or not, so just having another to double check.
Hope you are doing well xxx

That’s great news I’m so pleased for you! Good luck for the scan next week!
I am relieved to hear you have experienced the same thing with the FET meds.
I’m doing okay thank you and have a phone appt with the midwife on Friday so it’s all moving along now.
I do hope your pain and bleeding has settled down and you start to feel more comfortable now.

Needtotalkivf19 · 10/09/2020 06:31

Good luck with you appointment Friday.
The pain has settled down, just comes and goes but is mild now and they couldn’t see any reason for the bleeding and said they think it could be utrogesten irritating my cervix. Which could be right has I’ve had problems in the passed, I even had to have me smear at the hospital because of it.
So I’m just going to keep my fingers crossed for now and start feeling more positive about things.
I would love to keep in touch as is so nice talking to someone at the same stage, who has been through the same. I dont think people who get pregnant naturally realise how much we have had to deal with.
Thankyou for keep me sane for a few days. Xxxx

Thank you, it feels a bit more real now I have a midwife!
I’m glad the pain and bleeding has settled. It is so frightening at the time though. That makes sense with the utrogestan irritating the cervix. I have been lucky so far I’ve only experienced slight discomfort on occasion with these pessaries.
Yes definitely try and keep positive now that you’ve had the scan, it is a big step forward and another milestone reached.
I’d like to keep in touch too, it really helps to talk to someone at the same stage. Yes, getting naturally pregnant is a whole different experience I can only dream of!
I’m glad I could help in some small way. Take care and look after yourself.xx

@Needtotalkivf19 - I was just wondering how you are getting on? I do hope you are okay x

Needtotalkivf19 · 03/10/2020 04:41

Hello @FingersCrossedForAllOfUs I great to hear from you. I am doing better Thankyou how are you getting on?? Have you got a scan date now??
My next scan is the 14th which seem to be dragging at the moment. On a positive tho I do get to stop my medication after next week so I’m happy about that the progynova makes my sickness 10x worst :( have you stopped taking yours yet??
Hope everything going smooth for you and your enjoying pregnancy xxxxx

Hi @Needtotalkivf19 - I am so glad you are doing better. I’m sorry to hear the progynova makes your sickness worse.
My scan is on the 14th too, I’ll be 13 weeks then all being well. The waiting is so hard isn’t it.

I’ve had a bit of a blip this week after stopping my utrogestan and progynova - I started a new thread because I was worried:
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/4039094-IVF-medication-finished-this-week-I-m-a-bit-concerned
The last 2 days things have settled with no more spotting and not so much stomach pain so I’m hoping everything is okay.
I don’t think I can dare start enjoying the pregnancy yet, I’m just too nervous!
I hope everything continues to go well for you xx
