Early pregnancy scan stories please!

Hi all!
So I’ve caved and booked an early scan for tomorrow evening as I just can’t face waiting for a letter for my 12 week scan any longer! 🙈

I think I will be just over 7 weeks (earliest) could be further along as my cycles are irregular but I’m pretty sure it’s 7 based on my OPKs for that month.

Am I likely to need a transvaginal scan in order to see the heartbeat? Or will they be able to perform the scan abdominally?

I’m so excited but also nervous about the whole thing!! I just need some confirmation that it really is happening!

I would love to know your early scan stories to put my mind at rest! Xx

I went at 8 weeks because I couldn’t hold off until the 12 week scan. I also had no symptoms so it really reassured me. I seen my baby jumping about inside me & it was amazing! It also meant my husband could come with me as he wasn’t allowed in for the 12 week scan at that point in lockdown.
