Light brown discharge: 6-7 weeks

Hi all - I was wondering whether anyone had had this experience and everything turned out okay?

I am 6-7 weeks pregnant (7 according to the date of my last period, but 6 according to some early scans I had last Sunday and Tuesday as a result of an ectopic pregnancy scare - which thankfully did not turn out to be the case in the end). Yesterday morning after going for a walk I had some very light brown discharge. I have been having increased discharge since getting pregnant, and it was more like old blood mixed with that discharge, rather than blood by itself. I've been fairly worried since, though I haven't had any further discharge or any bleeding until this morning, when again I had even lighter brown discharge - again a similar consistency to CM rather than blood.

I actually have been asked to attend a walk-in appointment tomorrow at my EPU in light of the ectopic scare last week, so trying to hold off my fears until then, but I wondered whether anyone had had experience of this and then everything turned out okay / whether anyone else is going through this at the moment?

I’m going through this atm @AKM89

My brown discharge is exactly like that, normal creamy mucus that is a bit brown.

IM also getting cramps that go along side it too, though I’ve had those since I got pregnant (I’m 5 weeks now) they have definitely got more painful the last 24 hours.

I'm 5+6 and have been experiencing this since I got my BFP, along with mild cramping. From everything I've read it's quite common and nothing to worry about unless it turns red but I'm finding it impossible not to panic. Hopefully someone further along will post and reassure us all.

@Sansa87 and @JanQi - thanks so much for your responses ladies. I have also been having mild cramps on and off since just before I got my BFP. Fingers crossed for us all - totally agree with you about finding it impossible not to panic.

I had some spotting at around 6 weeks over 2 days. I wasn't too worried as it was very dark and not fresh. I had a scan at 8 weeks and everything was great. I am now 9+5 and havent had any spotting/bleeding since. I am sure everything will work out fine for you! x

I had this at 6 weeks and it was as you describe, everything was fine, I’m no expert but I hope all goes well for you Flowers

Hi, I'm 7 weeks and I've been getting pink and brown spotting on and off since 4 weeks.
Was told by the midwife that it's the uterus getting ready for pregnancy, but the brown spotting has gotten slightly heavier today, not enough to fill a pad but enough to get me worried about it.
I'm sure it's all fine tho, just me overthinking stuff x

Hi, I've just skim read the thread because I'm off to bed but I had similar browny discharge for most of my first trimester.

I also had bright red blood a couple of times with clots at about 16 weeks.

Baby is 3 now and absolutely fine.
