Pregnant straight after miscarriage, now bleeding again

Hello all,

I just wondered whether anyone had experienced anything similar...
I miscarried at 5weeks previously, no intervention required, passed naturally.

I am now pregnant (fingers crossed) again, I had no period in between miscarriage and new pregnancy.

From my dates I am around 5/6 weeks and last night had a bleed(bright red blood) which has been followed by brown spotting today. I just wondered whether this could be caused by the fact I had no period in between or whether it is again another miscarriage Sad

I am going to try and get an appointment at the EPU tomorrow however just wondered in the meantime?

Sorry for your first loss, OP.

It could be implantation bleeding? I had it in both pregnancies and the first time it was as you describe.

Thank you for you response @baremineral, I am hoping this is the case. I have a daughter who is 2 (my first pregnancy) which was very straight forward and I had no bleeding whatsoever so I now find any sign of blood very nerve racking especially after my recent miscarriage.

I guess only the EPU will be able to confirm tomorrow via scan, or the dreaded wait of HCG monitoring.

Thanks again for your response xx

I had this with my pregnancy straight after miscarriage. The EPU said it was probably products from the miscarriage that hadn’t made their way out during my next period (as would usually happen) as I didn’t have one. My little boy is almost 8 months now. Best of luck xx

@Avvii thank you so much for your response. It’s nice to hear something positive, I’m trying to stay as upbeat about it all as possible until my appointment with the EPU.

If you don’t mind me asking how long did your bleeding last?

TIA

On and off I had spotting about 3-4 days a week between 5 weeks and 11 weeks pregnant. It was a stressful experience that’s for sure! Let us know how it goes at the EPU x

Thank you! I’ve chased up my referral this morning and asked them to get me seen ASAP. Will let you know how I get on xx

Hi both! Just thought I would let you know, hematoma found to be causing the bleed. Baby found in scan measuring 6w3days and heart beat xxxx

Congratulations! This is lovely to read.
Can I ask how much bleeding you had? I assumed I had a chemical pregnancy a few days ago as the blood was dark red and I probably filled a menstrual cup but then it stopped. Now I am second guessing but don't want to get my hopes up.

Congratulations

@HitsAndMrs I had a small gush of bright red blood whilst on the toilet, over the last week I have had more red blood, brown spotting, black stringy clots and dull cramps. I have had more blood over the past week then I would do on a usual period.

I do not want to give you any false hope but I definitely thought it was all over and was VERY shocked to see that little heart beat today. Definitely attend the EPU for a check up to put your mind at rest either way. Good luck xx

@Mother2princess Thank you xx

Thank you so much.
I started bleeding on Monday and
I am going to do a test later. Not sure if this is long enough for hcg to leave but if it is negative at least I know.

@Jada94 I only just saw this - wonderful news! Congratulations. So pleased xx
