What are you wearing - third trimester

Just that really.

I am 33 week and have less than 6 weeks until planned section. I'm reluctant to order more clothes given how little time I have left but I feel like I've outgrown so.many of my clothes and have nothing to wear. Jeans I just can't keep up, they sre constantly falling down all the time ( don't know if that's just my shape maybe), other clothes have gotten tight across the chest, or too short and my bump pops out the bottom like a beer gut!

I might just need to suck it up and order a few more bits to tide me over.

Just wondering what others are enjoying wearing during this final stretch for a bit of inspiration.

I don't think I'll be much help because I can mostly be found in my light weight maternity dressing gown! WFH means I rarely have to get dressed lol!

If you're planning on breastfeeding, perhaps buy some maternity / breastfeeding friendly clothes so that you can wear them post birth? That's what I'm trying to do. Then it doesn't feel like such a waste of money.

I've also ordered a few bits from the ASOS maternity selection. Some fairly reasonable dresses and skirts on there.

I'm wearing leginnings and maternity tshirts and have a couple of t-shirt dresses.

Try ebay for a few bits to tide you over, i refuse to spend loads on clothes ill only wear for a few months. Got a bundle of 7 tops and a dress from ebay for 15 quid, washed them when they arrived and they pretty much look new. Just bought myself a new pair of jeans and then use my old leggings as they sit under my bump anyway

Pinkpepper9 · 06/09/2020 11:35

Leggings, loose long tops and sometimes my husband’s tops. I’m in my third trimester too and don’t want to spend any more on clothes. As PP said, nursing clothes may be a good idea :)

Stargazer87 · 06/09/2020 11:58

My maternity outfits seem to consist of leggings, a vest top and a waterfall cardigan! Comfortable but still looks nice, waterfall cardigans are great for pregnancy and after!

peachypetite · 06/09/2020 11:59

I’m living in leggings since the weather got colder.

RWK29 · 06/09/2020 12:12

Maternity leggings and loose floaty tops/cardigans for me. Currently 32 weeks. Can’t think of the last time I wore anything other than my trusty Love Leggings maternity leggings 😂

Viletta · 06/09/2020 12:18

Maternity/nursing dresses are really comfy and would serve when nursing. Thinking of getting baggy trousers as I'm not enjoying leggings, I find them restrictive and too close to skin. I can still fit in most of my clothes, long stretchy t-shirts that I wore before pregnancy and Jersey dresses.

Caspianberg · 06/09/2020 12:20

I stole dhs old baggy T-shirt’s the last few weeks as like you I did t want to buy stuff for 6 weeks use.

burntpinky · 06/09/2020 12:23

I’m currently in summer maternity dresses and flip flops. 32 weeks. But need to order some jeans and jumpers for winter as if last time is anything to go by, I’ll be in mat wear for a while post birth.

EithneBlue · 06/09/2020 12:45

29 weeks here -- wearing dresses mostly (need suitable work clothes as I'm still at school teaching for another 7 weeks) haven't been cold enough yet but will be adding leggings under my dresses as needed. Did have to buy chub rub shorts for back to school because of the dresses but I'd have got away with that if I wasn't walking around so much.
At home I am living in maternity tank tops and elastic waist harem pants.
Ebay is pretty good for used Maternity wear if you do want a couple of bits to tide you over - lots of people sell bundles of maternity clothes and I picked up some amazing individual items for less than £5.

32 weeks, lots of midi/maxi dresses with trainers. I have a couple of pre pregnancy ones that are loose enough to still fit, and a few maternity ones from boohoo, topshop and next. Will probably get a couple more to take me through autumn that will still be suitable once baby arrives.

duckling3 · 06/09/2020 19:19

Thanks for all the replies. So i decided to get a few more bits. Popped to h&m and picked up a pair of jeans which seem to fit better than the ones I have and a couple of basic t shirts. Feel so much better now that I have a couple of bits in the wardrobe that fit. Think ill be living in jeans and t shirt for next few weeks.

34 weeks here and the lockdown situation meant I got away with not buying maternity stuff for ages but I’ve had to cave in and get a few bits and I’m glad as I’m pretty big now. It’s annoying as well season wise because when baby is here - it all be a lot cooler than it has been.
I’ve found H&M really good and cheap for a couple of dresses, next have something lovely maternity pjs and I’ve got a couple of vests - ones I can use for nursing afterwards and some leggings too
