Discharge during pregnancy?

Hi, so I'm 30 weeks pregnant and for the last few months I've had heavier discharge.. which yes at this stage can be normal, but it's yellow?! I spoke with a doctor a few weeks ago who diagnosed thrush and prescribe a pessary to take. But still, it's occurring, i found out yesterday I've quite a bad urine infection, could this also be a cause?. Also a lot of burning down there for maybe 30 mins after intercourse? The discharge is causing a bit of an itch but nothing overly bad. Also TMI .. it has a sweet smell to it? ( I know sometimes people recognise different discharges based on their smell ) xx

I would speak to your midwife but I do think it is probably due to the infection you have, especially with the itching

I've got loads of discharge, especially in 3rd trimester (now 32 weeks). Have to wear panty liners since late second trimester. The amount of it got me worried about amniotic fluid leak so I even ended up buying Amniosense pads (all ok, just me being overthinking things). It doesn't itch or burn though, not sure about sex as haven't had any since about 20 weeks 🙈 If you are worried, run it past your community midwife.

@Mc3209 really?! That reassured me that I'm not alone. Ive been surprised at how much discharge there has been and it seems to be getting more as the weeks go on! the itch isn't constant and the burning is just after intercourse🤔 I'm not too sure what's going on. Will say to MW next week though. I might try those pads, didn't know they existed! I was worried it was fluid as it was very watery at one stage! Although now it's changed and not as watery. The worries don't stop lol! Thank you!xx

@Carly1409 hopefully it's one of those pregnancy things. I was taken aback by the sheer volume, apparently it can get increase as the pregnancy goes on 😬 fingers crossed you will get all clear at your midwife appointment.

Could be the UTI. Has your partner been checked for thrush or UTI too - if it's been going for a couple of weeks and you've been having regular sex (lucky you Wink) you might be passing it between you.

Loads of discharge in the 3rd trimester is normal and annoying Grin but if it's itchy and your sore that's probably something to mention, probably still have thrush which again can be quite common towards the end of pregnancy Smile
