Is my baby's scan photo normal?

Hi all!

I'm currently 16+5 weeks pregnant and recently had a private gender scan.

I was just wondering if anybody else's scan photos have looked like this as I read it can be abnormal to have a gap between baby's head/neck and my uterus.

I have already had my first NHS scan where they tested for Edwards syndrome and downsyndrome and my tests came back as unlikely for baby to have it.

I was just wondering if there was any other conditions that can cause this?

All my scans have said baby is healthy and normal but I had a scan before this one at 14 weeks and baby looked like he had a gap there then too.

Thanks so much Smile

From the picture it looks like the gap is more at the back of the neck, not the head which means it's not as significant a finding. You should have been told at your nhs scan if there was a problem, and your risk of downs or Edwards would have been high if the fluid was problematic so I'd say its all good!
