Tummy is tender and slight cramping which is uncomfortable. Would the maternity assessment unit be able to do anything if I called or is it too soon? Results for Amnio came back as normal but just quite worried now if it's normal cramping or if something is wrong. (Im 20 weeks)

May well be normal. Very rarely it could be a sign of infection - are you tender all over your uterus or just where the needle went in? And any bowel/urine symptoms to maybe give another reason?
If you’re feeling otherwise well and it’s very very mild I’d probably wait and see and get things checked tomorrow if you’re still worried. If you feel like the cramping is strong, or if you’re feeling otherwise unwell/tender all over, I’d get checked straight away.
Most likely it’s all normal - really common to have period type cramping for up to a couple of days.

Hi OP

What a worrying time for you. I had an amnio at 15 was (now 26) & the fear of MC afterwards was soo strong. I had a very tender abdomen where the needle was pushed in but I didn't have any cramping (that I was aware of) afterwards. I will add that I have had no cramping at all during my pregnancy and if you have then this is probably just your normal cramping pains. I would suggest trying to rest as much as possible & don't put any strain on your core muscles for a few days. If you are worried call your MW :)

Hope you continue to have a healthy pregnancy :) xx

I'd always phone for advice but I did have a lot of cramping and even lost some blood/plug after mine and they weren't concerned.
Hope all is okay Flowers
