Hi mumsnetters

I'm 26 weeks and just getting really concerned about the amount of weight I'm putting on and just my health/diet on the whole. I was about 11 stone (not entirely sure as didnt look at the scales during lockdown) when I first got my BFP. I'm now 26 weeks and weight 12st 7lbs. I have read that it is 'normal'to gain between 25 - 35 lbs and hopefully I wont gain more than this but I constantly crave anything overly sweet. Chocolates, cakes, biscuits, sugary cereal etc. I start my days with the best intentions of eating fruit, fat free yoghurts but I never stick to it! Is anyone else in the same boat?

Ha!! I feel ya! I was always a bit of a chocoholic but consumption has reached new dizzying heights! Making sure I have plenty of veg with each meal to try and balance it out

I've been using this calculator www.calculator.net/pregnancy-weight-gain-calculator.html to make sure I'm in the right range each week.

Eating fruit and fat free products can contribute to craving sugary things. You'd probably find it easier to hold off on the craving with food that's higher in protein and fat and lower in carbs. My DP has been doing the blood sugar diet for the last few weeks as he had a blood result that was edging towards pre-diabetes, so I've been eating the same things as him but just more calories, and I've found it's really stopped my incessant crisp and chocolate snacking not having many carbs throughout the day.

I could of written this myself! Everyday all I do is eat an abundance of crap. Even when I'm not hungry and I'm so full and stuffed from all the rubbish I ate, I still eat more crap!! I buy fruit every week but it doesn't all get eaten. I feel awful and gaining so much weight but it's my own fault. Equally I can't stop 🤷🏻‍♀️
