Hi lovelies!

I've caught myself in a little bit of a daydream this afternoon, I'm not pregnant yet but we are activity TTC..
I'm what you would call plus size, size 20-22 and have got a bit of on overhang, or 'pouch' as I like to call it 😂😆

I caught myself in the mirror this afternoon and am now absolutely deveststed having seen myself, and I'm so scared that when the time comes, I won't have a nice bump like everybody else..

So I did the worst thing (Googled it) 🤦🏼‍♀️ and now I've seen that there's such thing as a B belly bump, that is in the shape of a B from a side profile.. has anybody experienced this? Likewise is there anybody here that has had a successful pregnancy being classed as plus-size?
I know it sounds so silly in the grand scheme of things, but I've always dreamed of my own little bump and now I'm thinking I won't look pregnant at all! 😞

This was me at 38+3 last time (day before my section, due to baby being breech). I still had a very slight B bump, but it was mainly my tummy not stretching as much at the bottom as at the top. There was no mistaking me being pregnant! I didn't have any negative experiences relating to my weight and maternity care. It was a far bigger issue that my baby was big. I think this was because I gained a lot due to feeling nauseous allll the time (obese women do tend to feel more sick). If anything, I would have liked more support with my weight during pregnancy.

@Sunshineandrain2018 thank you so much lovely - it's so nice having a positive story to read - I'm sure all will be fine, I just catch myself sometimes worrying like mad!! I'm not pregnant yet but can't wait to be, I'm actively trying to be healthy and as prepared for pregnancy (if and when it happens) as possible xxx

And another one, around 35 weeks. I actually look better than I thought at the time! It was definitely not a neat little bump, but with clothes on it looked lovely! I think you just have to accept that you will look different to average weight pregnant ladies. I suppose we might all be seeing a lot of overweight/ obese pregnant women without realising they are pregnant!

FWIW, I am 17 weeks with my second and have just had my first consultant appointment. I was surprised by how positive and hands off her attitude was. Happy to let me try for a VBAC and checking whether I would be OK to go overdue, rather than mentioning induction. And no mention of the dreaded precautionary epidural!

Aww thanks! I wouldn't describe it as sweet necessarily, I was frigging massive towards the endGrin I blame DS (8lb14) and being borderline for polyhydramnios!

@ttc97 I'm actively trying to be healthy and as prepared for pregnancy (if and when it happens) as possible xxx I really hope you conceive easily. I forgot to mention in my previous post that although obese women can struggle to conceive, this was definitely not the case for me (5 unprotected shags resulted in 2 pregnancies, conceived first month both times). I was an 18-20 both times.

@Letmegetthisrightasawoman ahh amazing! I think your bump was lovely 🙈🥰
That's so reassuring, thanks so much for letting me know! I've had my implant removed now for a month (to the date) and had my first AF so actively tracking my ovulation and TTC once I know what's going on with my cycles! I'm super excited 🥰🥰
