Steroids for pregnancy sickness

I'm 7.5 weeks pregnant and have been suffering with awful hyperemesis. Docs reached a last resort situation as I wasn't responding to any of the first line treatments. I'm now on steroids. I've only started taking them today - 2 doses so far - and whilst I definitely feel far less sick, I'm absolutely wiped out! I've not left my bed for the last 4 hours. Is this normal? I'm thinking it could also be the fact my sleep over the past week has been extremely broken and poor due to the sickness so maybe my body is trying to catch up. I'm just wondering about others' experiences ... thanks Smile

Hi!

I was on steroids and 2 lots of anti sickness tablets when I was pregnant 10 years ago.
They made me hyper, not sure if it was the combination I was taking that was causing that tho.
Steroids, although useful for a lot of things, can be evil and make u feel pretty crap, so it is pretty normal for u to feel tried especially if ur having a rough time with HG.
The thing I hated was the ' after effect steroid itching' as it was working it's way out after I had finished taking it, it was awful.
I hope ur HG eases really soon, I totally sympathies with u as I use to have it really bad too x
