Slow leaking waters

Hi ladies. I'm 38 +1 weeks and have noticed my underwear is very damp. Has anyone had slow leaking waters? How did you know that is what it was and not just baby kicking your bladder?

This was how my waters went. A show trickle. I noticed it dripping a bit after a shower and while I was getting changed. It was clear and just dripping. I had a midwife appointment that day and she confirmed it was my waters. Good luck

Thank you! I think I will put a pad on and keep an eye on it until the morning.

I had this with DC1. I got up during the night and had a minor flood, but it was a tear higher up.

There is an infection risk so contact the labour ward. I was taken in for monitoring and sent home again for 2 mornings, then admitted for induction.

Good luck

Mine went like this too at 40+4 - a trickle in the evening that turned into full on waters breaking at midnight when I turned over in bed! Put a big bath towel under you in bed and a couple more on the floor next to you just in case. And contact maternity triage first thing tomorrow as they may well want to check you out. Good luck!

I had similar for two days and then I got up from the sofa one evening and more came out (probably like skipping you tea when you carry it in the room), so I phoned the ward who told me to wait an hour, but that point every time I moved it flooded out.. oops!

It was during the lovely warm weather we had and I was undecided if it was my water or sweat (sorry) .. I even had the odd bead drip down my leg and thought I'd never sweated that like but it couldn't be my waters because surely they pop. Thanks TV.

Yes mine went like this. Midwife ignored it, then I had reduced movements and as rushed in for an induction a day later so do get checked.

Mine started trickling evening of 22/08 and I had my beautiful baby girl just before 15:00 on 23/08. Everything progressed fairly quickly. Good luck!!!

Hopping on this thread as I feel my waters are slowly going but I'm not sure (FTM so no clue 😫)
I was in hospital on Tuesday night with contractions coming thick and fast and then they stopped. Bottom of my cervix has started to open and is soft but hadn't started dilating on Tuesday. Managed to sleep last night but today no contractions but feel like I'm leaking!
I have a pad on but I'm just not sure! 😬😬😬

Please contact midwife, if waters are leaking you could end up with Strep B infection.

Superscientist · 03/09/2020 15:15

If you think your water have gone in anyway you should call your midwife /maternity unit. There is a infection risk and protocol is to induce if you aren't in labour within 24h of waters breaking (if you are at term). Always best to get a midwife's /medical professionals pov in these situations.

@Superscientist I'm 36 +4. The amount that is dripping is so minimal I haven't soaked a panty liner and I've had it on since this morning. I'm still not convinced if it's fluid or pee! 😂
I'm gonna give it today and see how I go and if I'm still dripping I'll call the ward tomorrow.
With everything that went on, on Tuesday night I won't leave it too long just in case!
