I'm starting to think about what to pack in my hospital bag and not sure what I should be packing to come home in? I'm having a November baby...what would you recommend?

Also a couple of other things...did you only get dressed into proper clothes for leaving the hospital so you only need one actual outfit other than nightwear?

In terms of sizing, I'm usually a 10-12 and have been wearing size 12 maternity up until now, would you say to pack the same size for coming home or did you get a lot bigger/go up a size during the third trimester?

Sorry for all the questions, ftm and a bit baffled!

Loose fitting comfy clothes and layers because hospitals are often boiling in the winter. Good luck. I was only in for a day but I wore pjs until I left and then I put day clothes on. Wear whatever you feel comfy in.

I put so much thought into my going home outfit but in reality I walked out of my hospital into my car and drove 5 minutes home . It wasn’t a big deal at all and even if I messed up the outfit it would have been fine .

I stayed 3 nights in the hospital and was still in maternity clothing . I picked an outfit that was comfy ( leggings with a tunic ). The leggings had started feeling a bit tight on my belly towards the end of my pregnancy so they were the perfect fit postpartum.

P.s I wore pjs/ sweatpants in the hospital. Every other mum I saw did too.

I was in 2 nights; on the full day I spent there I didn’t get dressed as I was recovering from my section but some people did. I just wore maternity leggings and a maternity top to go home in the same size I’ve always been. I pretty much lived in maternity leggings for the first 2 weeks (possibly longer)

I wore a massive nightshirt from Primark with my coat over the top and a pair of pyjama bottoms tucked into my Ugg boots. I was too tired and sore to give a fuck about how I looked - and my strange, bow-legged walk was probably much more arresting than my outfit, anyway!
