Hi all, just wondering when Others heard from midwife/hospital with everything going on at the moment?
I called my GP over 2 weeks ago when I was 6 weeks who advised they would refer me but haven't heard anything back yet. I know it's all very different at the moment and I don't want to call and be a pain but at the same time don't want to leave it and then be pushed back even more and risk not seeing a midwife before 12 weeks. Will be 8 weeks this week and based in south Birmingham.

Thanks 😊

Hi OP.
First of all congrats!
It's probably different for everywhere but from what I've heard, a lot of places are self-referrals to the midwife team. I did an online self referral and got a call by the end of the same day for my booking appointment.
Have a wee look online for midwife/maternity services in your area. There might be a number to call. I know referrals from GPs can take a while as you're going through someone else to get to the midwives.

Google your hospital name + self referral.

You should get a scan for around 12 weeks, but mine was actually 16 weeks for my middle one. This is too late for some testing, so you need to push for it if you want that.

Apart from that, take your folic acid, look at the nhs advice on food. There’s nothing they much they will do apart from that at the early appointments unless you are high risk. Smile

Thanks all have spoken to GP a call and they said to call hospital directly who advised (understandably) there is a big wait at the moment but I'm in the system. Feel better now I've checked 😊
