Potty shot / Gender Scan help?!

Can anyone help me?

Looking for some advice as we were told at 15 weeks my baby was a girl and at 16 weeks that it could be a boy. My doctor is very laid back about it and said to wait till my 20 week scan before worrying about genetic blood tests.

The “potty shot” (sorry for the term) scan shows what appears to be the buttocks, bladder (which can’t be seen on females) and then descending down the femur, the genitals. My doctor urged me to bare in mind that it’s a huge misconception that only girls have 3 white lines and that when boys so, it’s all about placement and bladder.

The middle image is a side view of baby, facing outwards where the cord is highlighted green and what looks to be A boy part falling to the side is circled.

The other picture is a Classic view.

My placenta is laying over my cervix causing shadowing making the shots not great. Also baby was sitting both times with his knees pulled up and wouldn’t extend them making it difficult.

Has anyone else experienced being told the wrong gender?
Anyone had to get a blood test to confirm due to confusion?
Does this look like any of your sons/daughters ultrasounds?

Just looking to settle my mind a little.

Thanks for anyone who responds 💛

Just wait for 20 weeks and don't stress. You'll either have a girl or a boy.

15 weeks is too early to tell and 16 weeks is still fairly early. Your pics haven't uploaded so we can't see them, but I agree with PP I would just chill out about it and wait for the 20 week scan... you have maximum 4 weeks to wait! Paying for a blood test to find out any sooner is a waste of money imo. And trust me, on the 20 week scan it's pretty bloody obvious if there's a penis, you won't have to worry about bladder positioning or anything!

(Also just to warn you the sex versus gender brigade are coming after you in 3... 2... 1...)

Just wait for 20 weeks?! Confused

Just looking to settle my mind a little.

About what? There are only two flavours. If the hospital can't tell you for certain while they are the professionals and do it the whole day long then we aren't going to give you an answer that will be more definite. You'll have to practice your patience.

By the time you get blood test results back it will be time for your 20 week scan. Is there a particular reason you need to find out a few sooner? (Asking because you refer to “genetic blood tests”)
If there is no medical reason you must find out before 20 weeks then you are worrying about a whole load of nothing.

Wow just wait. It’s a boy.... or a girl! It just doesn’t matter. Your mind doesn’t need settling about what sex your baby is. You need to chill about the whole thing.
