And how long after did you go into labour?

Yes. It’s the drop in progesterone I think. Loose stools and regular toilet visits were always a sign for me. I would say in the two days before going into labour. Good luck!

Only a few hours before fore me

In my first pregnancy my waters broke which triggered labour to start. I was getting mild period pains when I started going for number 2s lots then I went into ‘proper labour’ about 10 hours later

It happened a few hours into labour for me both times, it wasn't fun, contractions and the shits 😆. There was literally nothing left in me. Did mean that I didn't crap myself during childbirth though on the plus side!

Yes and immediately before. It was a long labour though. Second time no, but I was induced due to problems with my baby's heart rate.

Think I woke about 1am needing to "go", h a little loose stool, returned to bed and realised I was having contractions

In a text book labour the start of contractions will stimulate the bowel to empty. This creates more space for the baby to progress down and enter the birth canal. (It's also a reassuring for you to know you won't poo everywhere while pushing👍).
