I've had period pains all day that have ramped up in the past hour. I am due to be induced tomoz morning at 7:30am.
Mine are every 5-8 mins & lasting for 30-40 seconds.
Hospital have said need to be at 3 lasting 60 seconds in a 10 minute frameConfused
Can I ask ladies did you wait until it was exactly lasting 60 seconds etc to call delivery unit/hospital?

The longer you can manage at home the better. I hope you aren’t too uncomfortable.
Good luck xxx

The longer you stay at home the better. You contractions may stop and restart in a few days or contractions maybe like this for 24 hours or not! Get as comfy as possible, have a bath, bounce on your ball, eat if you are hungry.

Remember you should be able to feel your baby moving and babies don’t become quiet before or during labour.

Good luck xx

What PP said! The longer you are at home the better, I had an app called Freya that I timed my contractions on and it told me when to call the hospital as I was in established labour and had some nice relaxing music on - good luck!

Thank you ladies for your comments, I stayed at home until 7:30am today. Came to hospital, and was about to get my waters broke but they broke a minute before. Currently sat with the bliss of an epidural as I was horrific. Swearing like a trooper too 🙈 got a way to go still but hopefully won't be much longer 🙏🏻

Oh good. If you have been awake all night then have a nap.

How are things ?

Chocforthewin · 30/08/2020 19:09

Baby girl was born yesterday evening,It was all abit hectic as baby's heart rate shot up & they had concerns. I had an episiotomy & forceps delivery. Healthy weight of 8.4lbs. We've got to stay in hospital for 3 days, possibly 5 if our blood results come back with any infection.
But baby girl seems content & happy 😃 💞

Excellent news. Congratulations and well done. Get an ice pack for your poor lady bits.

VictoriaBun · 30/08/2020 19:50

Congratulations Flowers

Chocforthewin · 30/08/2020 20:41

Thank you both @VictoriaBun @Lockdownseperation actual ice-pack sounds absolute bliss ShockI will ask the midwife if that can be sorted. I'm not allowed a bath, would this be cos of the stitches? A cold bath would be lovely too 😏

Order yourself some of these to go under your sanitary towel. You can also get sanitary towels which are ice packs which don’t go in the freezer.
