Feeling movements early

This is my first pregnancy and I felt definite first movements at 13 weeks 5 days. I have felt baby move almost everyday since and I even caught movement from the outside on film yeaterday (I'm 16 weeks today)

I heard many people say they didnt feel their first until nearer 20 weeks. Although movements are lovely and reassuring I'm just wondering if this means anything in particular about my placenta location? Or is it just one of these things everyone experiences differently x

I think it really varies by person, I felt DD pretty much 12 weeks on the dot, couple of weeks longer for this pregnancy, around 15 weeks,
his movements are very different to DD in general so varies by baby too I guess

@ShyOwl Aw that's interesting. My very first movement felt like a butterfly loose in belly but I never felt that again. It quickly turned to a rolling and actual movement sensation.

I know its early but I'm so used to feeling baby now I have to lay still when I dont feel in the day because I worry.

@Summerrp I was like you and felt movements very early on. I am now nearly 26 weeks. I think it says if your placenta is positioned at the back then you feel baby a lot more and that was the case with my little one. Still feeling the movements and they're just getting stronger by the day. Enjoy! Xx

I'm 14 weeks and I definitely felt something to one side yesterday. Im convinced it was the baby. Didn't really expect to feel anything at this point.

I'm a FTM and I felt my baby moving from 14 weeks, it was the very distinct rolling rather than butterflies or kicking. I have an anterior placenta which usually means you don't feel anything till later but it certainly wasn't the case with me.

I’m 15 weeks tomorrow and I’m pretty sure I’ve been feeling movements for about a week now. Occasionally it’s little taps but mostly rolling sensations. My bump has become a lot more prominent over that time too so maybe that’s got something to do with it? 🤷‍♀️

Hey OP,

I'm a FTM and felt movement from 16 weeks. I thought it was gas, but it became much stronger.

LO now has a proper routine and I'm 24 weeks.

I'm a ftm and felt bubbles at just before 14 weeks.. Been getting more definite ever since. Had a private scan last weekend and they confirmed my placenta was posterior (at the back) which is why I could probably feel him so early. My oh felt him move at 18+4 and I'm now 19+2 and feel him every day. Like you, if I've not felt him I have to lay there and wait till I feel him. Ice cold water usually does the trick though.
