Hi everyone,

So I had my baby at the end of July, I was struggling with low mood towards the end of my pregnancy but it has got much worse since my baby has been born.

I was referred to cbt when I was 34 weeks pregnant, however I ended up going into labour early so never had a session before baby was born and am now struggling to find the time with a newborn and I’m becoming really overwhelmed.

I have been on anti depressants in the past and requested them again from the GP via e consult and am waiting to hear back, is the GP likely to prescribe medication for this?

The reason I ask is I know last time I was on anti depressants they were very reluctant and it took months of trying cbt which didn’t really help me before they agreed to give me
Mediation. I don’t know if this is the norm, or because I was only 21 (I’m 27 now) or if it was just my GP at the time?

I’m just worried because I’m really struggling and feel like I need something to help me.
