Lactulose dose?

Sorry for boring question but looking at old threads I am getting some answers saying 15ml am and pm is too much, so wondering what is safe to take or at least try as a starting dose? Is starting on 5ml am and pm too little? Or is it best to take one dose a day?

Am only 8 wks but am on the progesterone pessaries and having some unpleasant trips to the loo!

Thanks for any advice.

I took 15 ml am and pm for a few days after birth and it was perfect for me ! X

I started on 20ml. Dr said it was fine as it's not absorbed into the bloodstream

What does it say on the bottle?

Inkpaperstars · 27/08/2020 22:34

Thanks for the replies, it's helpful to know what has worked for others.

The bottle says for adults 15-45ml starting dose, either taken as one dose or split into three daily ones. Then reduce for maintenance dose. It doesn't say if any different in pregnancy.

My 11month old is on 15ml twice a day!! You'll be fine.

www.nhs.uk/medicines/lactulose/
This seems to say 15ml twice a day for adults
