Unexplained bruising

I’m 30 weeks and have spotted a couple of small bruises on my upper arms. I honestly can’t remember banging them so have no idea how I’ve done it. I don’t usually bruise easily and these are really blue in colour which is unusual for me too.

Any know off hand if this means anything or not really? I’ll give the midwives a buzz tomorrow to mention it.

I’m taking Clexane injections, if that is a factor, although I’ve been on that since 12 weeks and haven’t noticed random bruising before now.

The clexane is the culprit. It thins your blood. A side effect is bruising very easily...

Yep, same. I was on clexane and the bruising just randomly happened even if I hadn't bumped into anything. Now off the clexane and it's not happening anymore. I wouldn't worry.

Ok thanks. Just seemed odd that I’ve been on Clexane for the last 18 weeks without noticing it and suddenly had two unexplained bruises appear on different arms.

The anti coagulant is the cause but if you have noticed increased bruising you need to bring it to the attention of your Dr.
