@JacobReesMogadishu thanks - so baby is 2/5th palpable so not sure what that correlates to in regards to baby’s position? In my notes she’s also put an arrrow upwards and written “2 spines”, guessing this is in relation to how engaged baby is also.
2 cm dilated, soft and stretchy, central and “not fully effaced”

Sounds like it’s 6 or 7.

Bit hard to say for sure as they haven’t specified a length. Not fully effaced could mean a bit more than paper thin, 1cm, 2cm, 3cm, 4cm. But I’d guess from the rest that length is either 1 or 2cm.

The 2/5th palpable isn’t relevant for a bishops score.

But it all sounds good.

The 2/5th palpable means the midwife could feel 2/5th of baby’s head when doing the abdominal palpation.

Thank you @JacobReesMogadishu. I’m aware about the terminology and what it means etc, it was just the arrow with the “2 spines” that I was struggling to understand in relation to the “level” on the photo you attached. I can’t work it out exactly and she didn’t specify the length of cervix, but a rough figure is helpful. Thanks again Smile

No problem.

2 above the spines, equates to -2 in the level row.

Sounds like she meant baby’s position was -2 to spines. It means ‘quite high up’ basically. But it’s exactly what I’d expect pre-labour.

Thanks both. For context, that was my second sweep, and follows 6 days of period pain and losing my plug/a show on Friday last week. Second baby and first appeared without much warning and relatively quickly, so just feeling a bit fed up.
