i ladies,

Not even sure if I’m in the right place but I’m a long time reader first time posting.

Myself and my wife(same sex couple) have been trying to fall pregnant for nearly 3 years. We had a donor come to the house and it just didn’t work so we decided to start going through the hospital.
In between this we decided to find another donor as we assumed I just wasn’t clicking with the donor we had been using.
We found a new donor and I went through all the check with the hospitals and we aren’t far away from our first treatment.
However we decided to try home insemination with our new donor just while we wait.
This month is the second month we have tried although I class as the first as I’m convinced I missed ovulation last month.
My period was due today and I’ve now taken 3 different tests and they are all positive.
I’m all over the place currently, not sure how I should be feeling, can’t let myself get excited. I’ve had a sharp pain beside my belly button all morning and I’m convinced my period is about to start.

I guess I’m just looking for a bit of advice from other mums.

@Moneyheistfan congratulations that's amazing news, it's normal to feel a little crampy around the time af is due x

Congratulations! I got my BFP on Sunday and have had aches, cramps and weird sharp pains since. I think it's normal, it's everything stretching and moving around in there

Oh thank you ladies. That makes me feel much better. My mum keeps telling me to relax but I feel I’m on the ceiling. It’s just such a surreal experience. Thanks for replying.

Congratulations! That's wonderful news! I had a lot of AF like cramps at the start - I was constantly looking for blood but all good. It's definitely a surreal experience - especially before you can't feel them moving and you just have to believe there's a baby in. I had a scan at 8 weeks which helped me relax a lot

Did any of you take any supplements in the first 12 weeks?

You should take folic acid :)
