Hi

So i had my whooping cough injection on Friday, where they did it is still quite sore to lean on or touch. The sites slighty pinker than my normal skin and a little bit warmer. Today its started to feel quite itchy. Just wondered if this is normal as never had it before?

Mine was really sore for about a week but no itching. Maybe it's worth giving the nurse/GP a call just to make sure its no reason to be concerned.

I think i will, just feel a fraud as its not overly sore or red but dont want to end up in a bad situation with it. Thanks for replying x

I got a swollen red lump at the injection site and it was quite itchy and sore for about a week before it went down!

Yes this can be normal from any vaccination. As a pharmacist after giving my patients their vaccinations I always advise the side effects at the site of injection can be red, itchy and tender which can last up to a week. If after a week it’s remained the same or gotten worse then contact GP :)

Mine was huge and red and really hot to the touch, was worried it was infected but it went down eventually. I also had nose bleeds and constant diarrhoea for two weeks. Not my favourite vaccine 😑

Yeh I had the same. Very swollen and red hot to touch. Mine went itchy after a few days but it took over a week for mine to stop annoying me. It's crap.

Yep, I had this too. Luckily I had been pre warned by the practice nurse that this was likely & considered normal. I took some paracetamol & was much more comfortable after that

I have had the flu and the whooping cough vaccine during this pregnancy and after the flu one being totally fine I was shocking at how painful the whooping cough one was. My arm felt sore for days like I’d been punched really hard.
