STRESSED OUT!

I am currently 6 wks pregnant. I don't have my dating scan until another 6 weeks (at 12 wks). As the days are going on, i am getting more and more nervous and worried as I have no idea if everything is progressing well. Waiting till the 12 week scan seems like forever. I just want this baby so bad. What is the likelihood of a miscarriage at 6 weeks?

Why are you thinking about miscarriage....you’ll drive yourself crazy looking at stats! Just try to relax and not stress out. xx

Babymummy777 · 25/08/2020 10:26

I had a dream two days ago that I miscarried and it's driving me crazy 😫

I wouldn’t worry yourself @Babymummy777
It’s not worth it, trust me!
Its easier said than done, but I’ve booked in for an early scan at 7+3 due to having a miscarriage at 5+1 in June.
Every woman is different and every pregnancy is different and it’s normal to worry but all you need to focus on is that you are pregnant so just enjoy it x

Thank you so much for the reassurance. I really hope everything goes well for you! Good luck for your scan 👍🏼

Try not to worry - but it is totally normal to do so and everyone does (for all the help it does!). If you want some reassurance before the 12 week scan you could book a private one at around 8 weeks (about 100 quid)

Suzi888 · 25/08/2020 11:52

@Babymummy777 try and do some relaxation exercises, yoga maybe? Obviously check and make sure you are allowed to. Just something to take your mind off things. Don’t google things or read or watch horrible things before bed.
I was soooooo shattered when I was pregnant I was asleep before my head hit the pillow! Take care, eat well (if you can!) xx

You have to relinquish yourself to the idea that there is nothing you can do to control this situation. I had a mmc at nearly 12 weeks back in January this was after having a healthy scan with heartbeat at 7 weeks. I then found out I was pregnant the week Before lockdown. Nobody was doing scans but the sonographer had told me with my mmc that scans before 12 weeks are just snapshots in time. What you see one day is not necessarily what you will see the next day so I just resigned myself to what would be.

Thank you so much everyone for the reassurance! I honestly really appreciate all you support. Just been a little worried since i'm having stomach cramps and feeling dizzy.

@Babymummy777 I was dizzy and had cramps most of the time, like I was going to start my period. Confused Apparently it’s normal but I found it a very weird feeling! Try and eat if you can, should help with the dizzy part.
Just make sure you get checked out if it continues /worsens or anything else happens as I think it can mean your anaemic.

Babymummy777 · 26/08/2020 09:18

Oh dear, yes I'll definitely have to get it checked out. Although i am taking pregnacare tablets which do have iron in them. Could my iron levels still be low regardless of me taking the tablets?
By the way thank you so much for the support. You've been extremely helpful🥰

@Babymummy777 hmm I’m not sure. Possibly I guess if you are/becoming anaemic. I had massive cravings for red meat (I’m a pescatarian) but the feeling after I ate it, I’ve experienced nothing like it. Get a nice steak! Grinin you! xx

I'm not usually a worrier at all, yet I was incredibly anxious as well for the first few weeks, it does strange things to your mind I think. I also had next to no symptoms so I did end up having an early scan at around 8 weeks. I know there are valid arguments against this but for me seeing a heartbeat really helped get me through the wait until the dating scan, even though I knew things could still change. It cost me about £60 and I figured I'd easily saved that amount on booze by that point Wink

One mantra that helped me though was "focus only on what you can control." Take care of yourself, get plenty of rest and eat/drink the right things and you'll be doing the best you can.

Babymummy777 · 26/08/2020 21:53

Thanks for the advice, really helpful. I don't want to spend money on an early scan as it is kind of just a waste. Although it'll give me some sort of reassurance, there's nothing you can do if things don't go right. So i guess I'm just going to have to go through the dreaded wait. Another 6 weeks until my scan! 😭

Honestly, apart from being as healthy as you can be mentally and physically, there is nothing you can do. Pregnancy is so anxiety inducing. You're always looking to the next scan or appointment for reassurance. It doesn't stop, you just get a wee bit more confident with each milestone of pregnancy.

Hold tight, breathe deep, and keep strong. If you're living a healthy lifestyle and following recommendations, there is literally nowt you can do but wish away the weeks. Sorry, but I do hope you report back that all is well in 6 weeks when you have your scan. Until then find the others on here in the same time frame of pregnancy and keep each other sane.

rorosemary · 26/08/2020 22:38

I'm almost 26 weeks and every day I wonder if things are still going okay in there. It's such a worrying time, isn't it? I remind myself daily that the chances are highest for everything going well. There is no need to think negatively.

So, your feelings sound normal to me. I hope you have a good pregnancy and congratulations!

Babymummy777 · 26/08/2020 23:52

Awww thank you so much guys!! You guys are the sweetest. You've literally given me so much hope! I will definitely keep you updated as my pregnancy goes along. Congratulations and all the best to you all too ❤
